Benjamin
Tan
Co-founder
Ben is a co-founder of Tin Men Capital overseeing portfolio company revenue growth, operations and partnerships.
As a savvy investor in seed-stage startups, Ben is highly experienced in driving real value for entrepreneurs. His real-world expertise comes from having started and exited 3 businesses since 1995.
With 23 years of experience, Ben has taken on senior regional executive roles across the software (Microsoft, Information Laboratories), media (Yolk, WPP), Internet and telecom sectors (Redpill). Ben has served as a panellist and mentor for MDA’s iJam programme, and is pre-programmed with a heavy bias towards entrepreneurship and street-practicality.
He obtained a Degree in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore.

RAVI
Co-founder
Murli is a co-founder of Tin Men Capital driving Tin Men’s investment strategy and market analysis functions. He was previously with Temasek Holdings, JAFCO and INSEAD.
Murli has been a board member of more than 25 growth ventures since 2008 across a wide array of enterprise tech sub-sectors, countries (Singapore, India, Australia, and the US), and stages (from pre-revenue startups to mature firms with 2000+ employees).
His first board roles came just as the global financial crisis began, which was a brutal crash course in the vagaries startups must navigate.
Murli is a self-taught programmer and has been mucking about on the Internet since the early 90s, and generally tries not to take himself too seriously.

TAN
Co-founder
Jeremy is a co-founder of Tin Men Capital running all capital markets activities of both the Tin Men fund and our portfolio, including fund-raising, non-dilutive financing and M&A. Prior to this, he was a senior executive in corporate development and M&A at Trafigura Group and Chicago Mercantile Exchange; private equity at TH Lee, and investment banking at Morgan Stanley.
With 17 years of experience, he has invested in many businesses amounting to over US$7b in transaction value, including frontier markets transactions across APAC and Middle East. As a seasoned conference speaker, he has also been widely featured across the media.
Jeremy obtained a First Class Honours in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

The Team
Selrol is a Compliance Officer at Tin Men Capital. She has 15 years of experience in the fund management industry dealing specifically in compliance, fund administration and office operation.
Selrol prides herself on being hands-on. She deep dives into fund operations and keeps herself updated in the latest news in fund set-ups, policy drafting, compliance monitoring programmes and regulatory obligations. She has a strong stakeholder management skill dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
As a mother of two, her two favourite catchphrases are, ‘why not?’ and ‘Let’s do it!’ with her family — and sometimes friends and colleagues too. She believes in challenging the norms and persevering through tough times.
Selrol holds a Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance and is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).

The Team
Ying is an Analyst at Tin Men Capital. She supports the firm with its investment and market analysis functions. Ying Ying found her passion for startups during her tenure at a PE/VC fund data intelligence company.
Prior to joining Tin Men Capital, she worked at a Japanese startup that bridged Japanese corporations with startups in the USA and across Southeast Asia. Hailing from Malaysia where she was awarded Overall Best Graduate from the Monash University of Malaysia, Ying Ying is fluent in English, Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia and Japanese.
She completed her tertiary education on the Public Service Department of Malaysia scholarship She holds an Honours Degree of Bachelor of Psychological Science & Banking Finance. When she’s not looking up startups, she can be found plugging into the tunes of the GazettE.
PETER
YEO
The Team
Peter is a Communication Manager at Tin Men Capital. He has more than two decades of experience in communication roles including advertising, social media marketing, internal communication, and publishing.
His resume includes creating Singapore’s first multimedia kiosk for the Singapore Art Museum, editing the first Iteration of the Playboy magazine in Singapore, and covering Singapore’s General Election 2011, widely considered the country’s first digital election. During his time in publications, he has retold stories from models to celebrities to C-suites in MNCs such as Samsung, Razer and Toshiba.
He has a diploma in advertising and a bachelor’s degree in mass communication. When he is not at work, he can be found dabbling in toy photography.
